GW Pre-Health Advising Updates |
Hello future health professionals,
If I were to choose a "word-of-the-year" for Pre-Health Advising, it would be phronesis, or practical wisdom. As we mark the end of another calendar year, I hope you'll reflect on all that you've experienced and all that you've learned. So while you are keeping careful track of your experiences - your hours of research, clinical experience, community service, etc. - I suggest adding a column to your journal or spreadsheet entitled: "What I Learned." How did your activities influence your values and your motivation? How will they affect will your future healthcare practice? Not only will recording such thoughts help you in your applications, it will also help your personal growth which is as important as your academic and professional accomplishments.
Note: Pre-Health Advising Drop-In Hours will NOT be available for the remainder of 2023, but will resume in the first week of January. Additionally, our office will be closed December 24 - January 1. Please email us at prehealth@gwu.edu if you require assistance.
Happy winter holidays and see you next year!
Best,
GW Pre-Health Advising
