SAVE THE DATE: Support Songs for Seniors on Giving Tuesday

On Tuesday, Nov. 30, people across the nation will help kick off the holiday season and take part in Giving Tuesday, a day of giving and celebrating the spirit of generosity. GAgives is our statewide day of giving that falls on Giving Tuesday, and we will once again raise money to support our Music Therapy Songs for Seniors program. This program uses personalized music to help residents stay connected to the world, which has been especially important throughout the pandemic. Click here for more information or to give.
And hear from A.G. Rhodes Music Therapist, John Abel, about supporting Songs for Seniors on GAgives day.

Employee Spotlight: Edner Woods, RN
Being raised by her grandmother in her earlier years, Edner Woods has always had a fondness for older adults. In 22 years of working at A.G. Rhodes Atlanta, Ms. Woods has enjoyed hearing and sharing many stories about life experiences with the residents who live there.

“I love interacting with the residents,” she said. “I love seeing them light up when we talk about their interests and background, whether it’s gardening, or their upbringing, or just life. I guess you could say I have an old soul.”

In Memory Of...
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of elders who have recently passed away.

Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Cash passed away on October 15, 2021. Mrs. Cash had been a resident at A.G. Rhodes since 2015. She was 93 years old. Her niece, Ms. Artis Watts, sent in this remembrance and said she will be missed by family and friends. She also expressed her "thanks to the staff for their love and care of our aunt while (she was) at A.G. Rhodes."

If you have a loved one who was an A.G. Rhodes elder who recently passed away, email us at communications@agrhodes.org to include his or her name and link to the obituary in the next issue.
From our family to yours, we wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. We are grateful for our A.G. Rhodes community, today and every day!
