Next week we we'll celebrate 38 years of housing affordability work in Central Florida. Since May 20, 1986, we've built, repaired or rehabbed more than 900 homes, and we're not slowing down anytime soon!
We are driven every day by our mission that everyone deserves a safe, affordable place to call home and have been hard at work multiplying our impact.
Within the last year alone, in addition to building and repairing homes, we grew several new programs and services including Habitat U, Habitat Inspects, Housing Counseling and First-time Homebuyer Workshops. We also launched our Face The Housing Crisis™ and Cornerstone Housing™ Initiative to help accelerate the work of mobilizing the collective action needed in our community to address the housing crisis.

Hurricane season starts June 1:
Here’s how you can prepare today |
Hurricane season is nearly here! While the season officially runs from June 1 through Nov. 30, don’t wait to prepare until the storms are upon us.
Our local government does an excellent job of keeping us informed right before the storm about sandbag locations, hurricane shelters, evacuation routes and more, but there is plenty you can do to prepare both your family and home before June 1.
Do a walkthrough of your home, inside and out, making a list of items to secure, repair or strengthen before a storm. Be sure to check the following places:
1. Roof: Check out your roof or ask a local roofer to evaluate it for you. Is your roof more than 10 years old? Check the secureness of shingles or any worn areas. Be sure to check again after any significant storms to ensure they weren’t affected.
