The U.S. Air Force Academy Association & Foundation has recently learned of the death of Lt. Col. (Ret.) John R. Caraway, CS-23, Class of 1975. Col. Caraway passed away on May 17, 2026, in Tyler, Texas.

A Memorial Service was held on May 21, 2026, at Marvin Methodist Church, Tyler, Texas.
Interment will be held at a later date at the USAFA Cemetery.
His family has suggested memorial donations be made in lieu of flowers to the North Texas Association of Air Force Academy Graduates, Mission Team at Marvin Methodist Church, or the Air Force Association at 1501 Lee Highway, Arlington, VA 22209.
