Auction Fever
The Fellowship is stoked to offer both an online and in-person auction in November. Help us reach our goal of $20,000 by either donating items to the auction or attending the in-person auction.
The online auction site will be live starting November 1st and will close on November 8th at 7:15 pm. Get ready to bid on items. The in-person auction items will also be available for preview.
The in-person auction will be on Saturday, November 8th. Doors open at 5:30 pm. Bring your good vibes and enjoy heavy appetizers, beverages, and desserts before and during the event. The live auction begins at 6:30 pm. There is no cost to attend; however, we encourage you to purchase a paddle to participate in the fun of the live auction. Paddles will be available to purchase in advance soon or at the door on the day of the event. The cost is $15 per paddle. Please watch the newsletter or check the Auction Page of our website for details.
We welcome your generosity by donating food and/or beverages for the night of the auction or your time to make the auction successful. Please see the button below to sign up to help and/or donate.

Please feel free to contact Angie Miller at starlight54302@yahoo.com with questions.

Drag Queen Dress-Up Party - This Sunday
Join us for a special "dress up Sunday" (all ages are welcome to wear a costume of your choice; please, nothing violent or too scary). Our favorite local drag queen, Anita Bobbypin, will join us for the 11:00 am service.

At 12:15, Anita will host a story time for all ages!
At 12:45, she will host a dress-up party to explore identity through costume and makeup with our younger friends.
At that same time, adults will join Rev. Christina in the sanctuary for a conversation about crafting and practicing what to say when voicing your values in the face of opposition-- and why you support trans, nonbinary, and gender-expansive people and their right to dignity, access, and healthcare. We'll be following a model from the Center for Story-Based Strategy to craft our message in a powerful and useful way.
Questions? Contact Christina at christina@fvuuf.org.
Dress Up Play Clothes Wanted!
We'll be having a fun day of dress-up exploration with our favorite Drag Queen, Anita Bobbypin, this Sunday after the second service! If you have any Halloween costumes (nothing toooo scary) or dress-up clothes for kids to play with, please drop them off before 11:00 am on Sunday to the bin in the Fellowship Hall. If you want them back, please clearly label them! Thank you.

This Sunday:
  • Pronoun Practice with Rev. Christina and Kristin Havel. Come explore the world of pronouns and how to use them in conversation. Get more comfortable with “they/them” and neopronouns beyond the binary of “he/him” and “she/her.”
  • Samhain (Sow-wen or Sau-ihn) Ritual with the Pagan Gathering Circle small group. The pagan new year celebrates the time of year when the last of the harvest has been gathered and the veil between the worlds of living and dead is thin. All who wish to gather to honor our ancestors are welcome

Help Us Feed Our Community
Here is something that you can do to help others during these trying times. Essentials Justice Action Ministry team will be in the entry lobby handing out E2F (Empty to Full) pans this Sunday, October 26 after both services. Each pan includes a recipe and shopping list. All you need to do is combine the ingredients, put them in the pan, and freeze it unbaked. Then bring the pan(s) back to the Fellowship in two weeks on Sunday, November 9. The frozen pans will then be taken to Pillars Adult and Family Shelter to be used for their evening meals. How easy is that for spreading love and kindness?

Winter Art Show Theme:
“Our Love of Nature”
On Sunday, November 23, at 1:00 pm, we will be changing the art in the Fellowship Hall. If you have a piece you would like to display that matches the theme, please bring it to the Fellowship before that time. No late entries will be accepted. Your art doesn’t need to be original, but it needs to be ready to hang with your name and the name of the piece on the back. If you currently have art on display at the Fellowship, please take it home that morning or shortly before. If you want to bring in art before Nov. 23, please contact Cyndi in the office to make arrangements. And if you would like to be part of the team that changes the art show, please let me know. We are always looking for volunteers and new ideas. Thanks for sharing your love of art. It is greatly appreciated. Contact Mary Gerlach at gerlachmz@gmail.com with questions.
