Do I really need to do my saliva sample at home?
Yes. None of us want to think about one another's saliva. So why are we still talking about it? Because it's not clear that our
earlier communication got through.
If we must say it again: it's not safe or sanitary to spit in public. It requires removing your mask and you risk spreading droplets — not to mention, it's gross! Do us all a favor and do it behind closed doors — at home! We appreciate that it takes a little extra effort, especially if you're not on campus that often. But the next time you need to turn in your test, get comfy at home — hold off on your cup of coffee or avocado toast, collect your sample, then stick it in your backpack, and drop it off at one of the modestly convenient locations we've established in Washington Square, Brooklyn, and the Health Corridor.
TL;DR: For everyone's sake, you must do your saliva sample at home!
