Homecoming 2023 & Spirit Week |
It’s Spirit Week! Show your pride by wearing Walsh gear to the 2023 Homecoming activities. From sporting events and tailgating to a concert, you will not want to miss all the activities planned for this weekend, beginning today!
Here’s what is going on today:
| - 1–4 p.m. Tie Dye, David Center Lawn

5 p.m. Cavalier Cookout, North Campus (Schervish Dining will be moved to north campus tonight for a cookout. All students welcome.)
- 5 p.m. Women’s Soccer vs. Malone (Taylor Ceepo night), Cavalier Stadium
- 7:30 p.m. Men’s Soccer vs. Malone, Cavalier Stadium

Cavs Cave Donation Drive Today! |
The Cavs Cave Donation Drive is today. Stop by the David Center atrium any time between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., to help stock the pantry in Hannon Room 103 for students in need with easy-prep, microwavable and toaster foods such as macaroni & cheese, pasta and sauce, rice, beans, Pop-Tarts, Ramen noodle soups, peanut butter, crackers, granola bars, cereal, fruit snacks, pudding cups, microwave popcorn, canned chicken or tuna, bottled water, and Powerade or Gatorade. Cash donations are accepted too.

Community Freedom Summit and Freedom Walk |

Walsh University and Not For Sale: One Step at a Time are hosting the fifth annual Community Freedom Summit on Saturday, September 30, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost will deliver a keynote on human trafficking. Also, hear from the parents of James Timothy Woods, a local 17-year-old who took his own life after falling victim to sextortion. The event will end with a powerful, one-mile Freedom Walk in silence to pray and reflect on those who have been silenced through the tragedy of human trafficking. Register Here

| Walsh Appoints Assistant Athletic Director |
|
|
|
Walsh is excited to welcome Donavon Martin Jr. as our new Assistant Athletic Director. He previously served as Sports Information Director at Malone University, holding the responsibilities of media relations, website maintenance and social media management. He received a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management and Master of Education in Curriculum from Ohio Valley University, where he played baseball.

Walsh University Master of Occupational Therapy students recently partnered with Love Our Community (L.O.C.) in Lake Township to provide service at the warehouse location and Little Elk Neighbors by organizing, cleaning, weeding, and mowing. Students built, installed a new fire pit, and a raised garden table which will be used in an upcoming project at the site. Applications are currently being accepted for the Master of Occupational Therapy program. If you are interested in applying, please contact Morgan Gilbert at mgilbert@walsh.edu

Save the Date: Annual Christmas on Hoover Farm community event on Sunday, December 3 from 1-4 p.m. This family favorite event draws a crowd of 500. As in years past, there will be horse-drawn wagon rides through Hoover Park, Santa in the Tannery, and live music in the museum. New this year is the coffee food truck!
|
Thank you to everyone who participated in the first annual “22 Pushups for Veteran Suicide Awareness” last week. More than 250 students and employees came out to show their support and raise awareness by doing pushups alongside active-duty military members, Veteran Affairs Coordinator Joshua Ruiz, and President Tim Collins. Brenton Walker Jr., a junior Business Management major and men’s basketball team member took home the prize for doing 61 pushups wearing a 30-pound vest! Click here to view the photos.
