41K wireless devices were connected to PennNet in Q3.
10,500+ campus phones have been migrated to the cloud-based PennFlex Phone, which provides enhanced features like off-campus calling to support remote operations.
1.7M and 63K virtual meeting participants during Q3 for Zoom and Teams, respectively.
ISC began a multi-year project to consolidate Penn's 60+ Active Directory (AD) instances. ADs manage Windows computers, forming the foundation for the security of much of Penn’s computing.
Enterprise Applications & Data Services
The NGSS Programsuccessfully implemented Release 2 of Pennant Records & Aid with loans, customer service, and academic history. More details are available on the NGSS news page.
Workday@PennPhase 2 includes Talent Management expansion in July 2022, and Learning Management expansion in Spring 2023.
Penn is collaborating with Salesforce on a series of projects for a centralized system of record for constituent management, fundraising activities, the online Alumni community, and more. Penn’s Department of Alumni Relations (DAR) is implementing a new alumni and donor system in summer 2022.
The Office of the Vice Provost for Research continues to make advances on the Research Portal Program, an initiative providing new, centralized access to research administration information and tools. The Conflict of Interest project started in Q2.
Penn’s Data Warehousemakes institutional data available to decision-makers for query, analysis, and reporting across ~45 data collections. ISC is replacing the legacy system with an enhanced Snowflake cloud solution in FY22.
Information Security & Identity Access Management
27B security events were logged and the campus firewall blocked 1B attacks/month in Q3.
Enrollment reached 19,752 (99%) for PennO365 Two‑Step Verification during Q3. Several Schools and Centers are using ISC’s Two‑Step for O365 enrollment tools to smooth their migration path.
The IAM team is implementing a modern system to access the University’s vast array of electronic resources and services. In November 2021, the SailPoint Identity IQ application was implemented as the underlying identity engine for Penn Community. We are now improving security and efficiency in Phase 2.
CrowdStrike cloud-native cybersecurity protection was deployed to ~17K endpoints.
Client Support & Training
9,500 and ~2,500 total support tickets were managed during Q3 by ISC’s Client Care and HireIT, respectively.
