Dear 4-H Families,
As we head into November, we know many of you are preparing for Wisconsin’s deer hunting season—a tradition that brings families together and teaches patience, responsibility, and respect for nature. We wish all hunters a safe and successful season. Remember to model good sportsmanship and safety for our youth—it’s part of living the 4-H pledge!
Hunting Safety Tip for Youth: Always treat every firearm as if it is loaded. Keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction and never touch the trigger until you are ready to shoot. Safety first ensures a fun and responsible hunting experience.
Thanksgiving is also just around the corner, and it’s a wonderful time to reflect on gratitude. We are thankful for each of you and the positive impact you make in your communities. Whether you’re gathering around the table or spending time outdoors, we hope your holiday is filled with warmth, connection, and joy.
Gratitude Activity for Kids: Create a “Thankful Tree.” Cut out a tree trunk and branches from paper or use a real branch in a vase. Have kids write things they are thankful for on paper leaves and attach them to the tree. This is a great way to spark conversation about gratitude and display everyone’s blessings.
Thank you for being part of our 4-H family and for helping “make the best better” every day.
Thanks for all you do for the Dodge County 4-H program!
