shopmytown Norfolk - Digital Marketplace
Are you a retailer that would like to sell products online, or sell more products online, including during COVID-19?  Then Norfolk County would like to hear from you.   As part of the County’s Economic Recovery Plan, we are currently working on a new digital marketplace platform (think Amazon, but specific to Norfolk businesses) to help businesses diversify their sales channel.  This is an exciting and innovative project, with businesses starting to onboard in April, so we would love to hear from you

Government Funding Opportunities 

There are a number of funding opportunities available

Southwest Ontario Tourism Corporation (SWOTC) Digital Marketing Leadership Course

Starting April 20th, course participants can join Junction Creative for a 4 week, fully developed digital leadership course that will equip you to effectively market your tourism experiences & products to your target audiences using the latest digital marketing techniques.

SWOTC wants to understand your needs

You could win one of two grand prizes, that will benefit your business, valued at $500 each by taking 5 minutes to complete this Tourism Industry Survey.
This survey will help Southwest Ontario Tourism Corporation (SWOTC) and your local Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) understand what you, the tourism operators, need from us. They will use the results to better understand what’s happening on the ground and determine how they can continue to support the hard work you’re doing.

The Norfolk County Chambers of Commerce in partnership with Norfolk County and spearheaded by Simcoe Chamber is enhancing their business directory to a more robust BuyNorfolk Online directory. It's free to all Norfolk County businesses. Register today!

Consultant Opportunity

The Economic Development Department is looking to engage the services of a business consultant with proven domain expertise in market strategy development and execution, specifically in the tourism industry, for a limited scope project. The consultant will help the County to validate and plan the implementation of a recently developed Tourism Brand Strategy, in consultation with industry stakeholders.  Interested consultants with relevant experience are invited to email the Economic Development Team.

Job Portal

The Workforce Planning Board of Grand Erie (WPBGE) job board is now available. This central resource has a robust search function that allows you to filter by several criteria like region, or industry. Businesses may also monitor the site to see if their job postings are being featured.

Unilever going strong 

In spite of the pandemic, consumers are fortunate that their supply of Unilever ice cream treats were not adversely affected. The Simcoe plant has played its part in ensuring that production has kept a steady pace with demand which has resulted in the need for some additional dedicated workers to join their production team.
