A message from the Dean 

A warm welcome to this year's first edition. 

I hope you've had a wonderful start to 2024. I'm very much looking forward to an exciting year ahead as we continue our collective efforts to implement and achieve the ambitious goals of our 2023-2027 strategy. 

We've kickstarted the year by celebrating our Master of Business Administration, placing first in Australia and 63rd globally in the Financial Times rankings. 

We continue to trailblaze lifelong learning by future-proofing your career with our flexible digital sprint courses, building capabilities with artificial intelligence to lead in a rapidly changing world, or understanding the power of identity to improve and lead in brand. We are also pleased to continue our commitment to the LGBTQIA+ Executive Fellowship, Australia's first leadership program designed for LGBTQIA+ leaders.

This year, we are reimagining our undergraduate educational experience. The University of Sydney has signed a 5-year partnership with HEX, a multi-award-winning EdTech start-up. This partnership opens a potential new pathway to the Business School, allowing students to apply a maximum of 12 credit points for the successful completion of any combination of HEX programs to a Bachelor of Commerce, with additional programs set to launch in late 2024. 

We are expanding and deepening our engagement with industry, government, alumni and academia and continue to nurture and build our multidisciplinary research initiatives, including the new Australian Centre for Gender Equality and Inclusion at Work. Our researchers continue to be at the forefront of the future of work, examining the shift towards sustainable investment, the right for employees to disconnect from their workplaces, and lessons in personal superannuation management.

The School is committed to upholding our social contract with the First Nations peoples of Australia. We congratulate our alumni who were acknowledged on the Australia Day Honours List for their outstanding service to the community and business.

I am energised by what we can accomplish together in 2024. I hope to see you soon at one of the upcoming alumni events, and I look forward to connecting with our alumni in Vietnam, the U.S., and China later this year. Please save the date for the brilliant Alumni Festival on 30 November.
