Romans 8:38-39
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
New International Version (NIV)
Surrounded by the enemies of Israel, Elisha told his servant, “Those who are for us are more than those who are against us.”  Sometimes we just need to be reminded.
On the one hand, Paul shows us that our foes are formidable and many.  Death, life, angels, demons, things present, things to come, powers, height, depth, anything in all creation . . .  How can we possibly win against death and the demonic, against powerful forces arrayed against us.
Not only is God for us, but God loves us.  How do we know that God’s love wins in the end?  Jesus.  Jesus Christ our risen Lord.  God may very well give us something today that we cannot handle.  But he will never give us anything that he and we together cannot handle.  Whatever else happens today remember this:  God loves you.  The one who is in you is greater than anything and everything that would harm you.  Count on it.
Pray with me:
Father, thank you for your perfect, providential presence.  Forgive us for forgetting that you are here and that you love us.  Let us live our whole lives today with a clear consciousness of your victorious love.  In the name of the One who embodies love we pray.  Amen.
I want to invite you to join me in memorizing 52 passages this year from the 2017 set of Fighter Verses.  You can find the Fighter Verses App at the App Store on your phones or via this link  http://fighterverses.com/the-verses/fighter-verses/As we study the Bible this year, let's look at each text and learn what it says about God.
