Walsh University is delighted to announce the T.O.W.E.R. of Excellence Award finalists. The T.O.W.E.R. of Excellence is the most prestigious non-academic award given each year. Presented annually at the President’s Dinner, the award recognizes seniors or recent graduates who embody each of these characteristics:

Juniors and Seniors Register for the Cavs Connect Mixer Next Wednesday! |
Juniors, Seniors, and Alumni are invited to attend the Cavs Connect Mixer, on April 10, from 4 to 6 p.m., in the Toot Global Learning Center. A short program featuring previous T.O.W.E.R. of Excellence winners: Jan Almasy ’18, Founder and Head of Communications for Apex Communications; Miguel Chavez ’13, MA, MBA, SVP Mission and Ministry at Sisters of Charity Health System; and Skyler Stewart ’22, Analyst and Project Specialist for City of Cleveland, Code Enforcement, will be followed by networking and the announcement of this year’s T.O.W.E.R. and Outstanding Student recipients! Summer/Fall Registration Pop Up Today in Cecchini Center |
Representatives from various administrative departments will be on hand from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Cavalier Room of the Cecchini Center today to assist students with their registration questions, troubleshoot any issues, and assist in the registration process for summer and fall registration. This is a wonderful opportunity to address topics relating to course selection, overrides, holds, and seek guidance. Bring your laptops and we’ll see you there!

Solar Eclipse Fest on April 8, Rain or Shine |
|
|
|
Cav Nation will be hosting Solar Eclipse Fest on April 8 from 2 to 4 p.m., on the Quad next to the Toot Global Learning Center. Solar glasses will be handed out at the event. Classes will be cancelled, and University offices will close from 2:30 to 4 p.m. so that employees and students can attend and witness this historic celestial event. The Milk & Honey Food Truck will be on hand and vouchers will be available for students. Additional food trucks are being added. Sunny 101.7 will be broadcasting live with prizes and giveaways. The Department of Math and Sciences will have demonstrations and science trivia, and a livestream broadcast of the eclipse! This free and unforgettable community celebration offers a unique experience for all ages! T-shirts are on sale now. Those interested in purchasing a Solar Eclipse T-shirt for $12 may stop by the Math and Science Department or see Dr. Neil Walsh. (Rain location GLC Atrium)

Education for Life Colloquium, Thursday |
Join us for an enriching experience at the Education for Life Colloquium Series, an insightful five-part journey led by Dr. Chris Seeman, Chair of Theology at Walsh University, and Rabbi David Komerofsky from Temple Israel, Canton. Delve into the profound roots of Walsh University's core values – Faith, Excellence, Integrity, Service, and Community. Part four of this captivating series, titled "Leadership in Service," will be presented on Thursday, April 4, at 6 p.m. in the Barrette Business and Community Center. The presentation will examine the value of placing the needs and interests of others ahead of one’s own.

CAPE Academic Celebration of Excellence Symposium |
The Academic Celebration of Excellence Symposium (ACES) will be held in the Toot Global Learning Center on Thursday, April 11, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The symposium will showcase student and faculty achievements in all areas of academics, including individual student research, scholarship, class projects, and service-learning experiences. President Tim Collins is featured on the Cardinal Newman Society Podcast, From Fighter Piolot to Fighting for Faithful Catholic Education., Part 2.
Emeritus Professor of Philosophy, John G. Trapani Jr., retired from Walsh University in 2018 after a 44-year teaching career. Recently, he delivered the keynote address at the “Beggars for Heaven: The Inheritance of Jacques and Raissa Maritain” Conference at Cambridge University. Additionally, Trapani will give a farewell performance with The John Trapani Big Band during the Canton Ballet's Come Dance with Me! shows on April 12 and 14 at the Canton Palace Theatre. Following the Friday night show ONLY, Trapani will extend the celebration with an additional hour of music, inviting audience members onto the stage for dancing and offering light refreshments. Walsh employees and students can enjoy a 35% discount on tickets using code (CDWM35). Purchase tickets here for this event.
