Detroit PAL Breaks Ground on New Headquarters
The Detroit Police Athletic League (PAL), a non-profit organization that provides inner city youths an opportunity to learn through athletics and develop the confidence and motivation to achieve excellence in life broke ground earlier this year on a multi-sport complex and new headquarters at the site of the former Tiger Stadium in Detroit, Michigan. The new $20 million facility will include a 2,500-seat stadium for baseball, softball, football, lacrosse, soccer and other sports with dugouts, locker rooms, scoreboards and lights. The project also comprises a 10,000-square foot headquarters including PAL offices on the first floor and a banquet facility for up to 300 people on the second floor for volunteer training and community use. The project is being led by Pendulum, with SLAM serving as structural engineer and assisting with design.
