OF+MO Celebrates Two Years of the Oklahoma Film Friendly Community Program
Last month, OF+MO celebrated two successful years of the Oklahoma Film Friendly Community Program alongside state, city and tribal leadership at the state-of-the-art Cherokee Film Studios in Owasso. Thank you to the Cherokee Nation Film Office for hosting this event at their facilities and for the valuable information and resources their leadership shared with our attendees, including an impactful keynote address from Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. We were also honored to have Lt. Governor Matt Pinnell provide opening remarks. Thank you to all who made this event possible and to our growing list of certified film friendly cities, which now stands at 27 communities. We look forward to what's to come in 2023!
FEATURED LOCATION
Canadian River Brewing Company
An award-winning establishment that recently took home three medals in the prestigious 2022 Denver International Beer Competition, Canadian River Brewing Company (CRBC) is a craft brewery that features both a storefront, tap room and factory on site in the heart of downtown Chickasha. CRBC is located inside the former Marcum Motor Building, which previously stood empty for 60 years; and though remodeled in 2019 ahead of its grand opening, the brewery maintained the building’s historic aesthetic with exposed brick, industrial lighting and concrete floors in a relaxed family-friendly atmosphere. Available for private parties and special events, CRBC is both a film and music friendly location that previously hosted filming on the production “A Cowgirl’s Song” as well as the CRBC Music Sessions, a free online music performance series in partnership with Intellego Media, which features a number of talented Oklahoma musicians, including The Imaginaries, Billy Davis, TJ Wicks and more.

Many thanks to the owners of this property and our Film Friendly Community Partners at the Chickasha Economic Development Council for sharing these images with us and for their film friendly support.

If you are interested in showcasing your community or featuring your location in the Oklahoma Locations Directory, please contact Yousef Kazemi at Yousef.Kazemi@OKCommerce.gov or visit our website for more information.
