Sam Model United Nations (UN) Receives Honorable Mention Award
SHSU Model United Nations program once again received the Honorable Mention Award at this year’s National Model UN Conference in New York City.
Since the program’s founding in 2019, SHSU Model UN has earned national recognition every year—a testament to the strength, consistency, and growth of our team. As a relatively young program, we’re proud that SHSU’s presence and performance are well-regarded within the national MUN community.
This achievement not only reflects the dedication and professionalism of our students but also presents a strong opportunity for future recruitment. Our MUN students are enthusiastic, high-achieving, and eager to share their experiences, making them excellent ambassadors for both our department and the College of Humanities, Social Sciences.

Dr. Robert Donahoo Presents "O'Connor's Other Art" for the Flannery O'Connor Centennial and is Interviewed by The New York Times
"I was among the first scholars outside the estate to see many of these paintings. In an essay for the catalogue for the first exhibit of these works as part of the celebration of O'Connor's centennial and in a lecture following the opening of that exhibit, I began the work of stitching together an understanding of O'Connor's visual art that I hope other scholars will continue to build on as they explore this facet of her art."
- Dr. Robert Donahoo
