What is an exciting summer we are having! I would like to use the cover this month to highlight Dodge County Shooting Sports. First, congratulations to the Dodge County 4-H members and Archery, Air Rife Leaders who competed and hosted the Annual Dodge County Invitational State Shoot last weekend. The group under the leadership of Jessie and Eva Lynch hosted 38 youth from 8 counties at the competition. Youth interested in qualifying for Wisconsin’s 4-H Shooting Sports National Championships Team compete in Competitive Shoots across the state. Scores from these competitive shoots are used to determine who will represent Wisconsin on a National Championships Team. For the second year in a row, Kayden Qualmann from Juneau Victorians, represented Dodge County and Wisconsin at the National Championships. In 2022, she competed in Archery Compound. Since you can only go to nationals one time, this year she competed in Archery Recurve. She spend 4 days shooting at the event which lasts for an entire week. Kayden said she had a great time meeting other kids from different states and also shooting with her WI teammates. There were 42 states competing with over 700 kids in the different disciplines of shooting sports Check out some of the pictures of Kayden at the National Shooting Sports Championships below. Have a great weekend,
Marie

RC Planes!!
Do you remember this from April: Dodge County recently received a donation of RC airplanes. I am looking for anyone that may have knowledge about RC and who may be interested in the airplanes. One 4-H youth leader took me up on the offer:
I am Andy Hoefs of Hyland Prairie 4-H. I was wondering if there are any planes left because I believe it would be a fun learning experience for our 4-H club. I have been flying RC planes for a little over a year and would love to teach anyone who wants to learn!
Andy Hoefs mentored another 4-H member, Winston Lichty to build a custom RC plane from the donated items.
WAY TO GO ANDY HOEFS! THANK YOU FOR MENTORING WINSTON!
