June: Supporting Older Youth
This month, we reflect on our commitment to supporting older youth. “Top 10 Ideas for Supporting Older Youth” highlights how CFE helps young people feel seen, valued, and heard during one of the most pivotal stages of their lives.
From helping youth identify goals and strengths to fostering creativity, healing, and meaningful connections, CFE offers tools that build identity, purpose, and resilience. These strategies encourage youth to take an active role in decisions that affect their lives while strengthening relationships with the supportive adults around them. Over the past 10 years, we’ve seen how powerful it is when older youth are treated as partners in their own journeys, and how those connections and opportunities can create lasting impact well into adulthood.

Trafficking and Big Events
As the World Cup brings people together around the globe, it also shines a spotlight on human trafficking awareness and prevention efforts. While major sporting events often prompt increased law enforcement activity and public attention, research suggests they do not necessarily cause a rise in trafficking incidents. Instead, these events serve as important reminders that human trafficking can happen anywhere and that prevention starts with awareness. Read our full blog post to learn more about the connection between major events and trafficking and explore resources available through the ACT Portal.

Recruitment Bounty: Tip of the Month
See whether your local college or community center offers educational or recreational classes for seniors or older adults. If so, ask whether you can visit a few classes to share information about your CASA program. For example, CASA of Tarrant County began speaking to classes at TCU after receiving repeated invitations. As a result, they are now regularly invited to present to many of those classes.
