Become Part of History: Register to Vote Today
Democracy is pretty cool, and this is your chance to do your part and make your voice heard! To fight for what you believe in and become a part of history, it’s crucial that you vote this fall. National Voter Registration Day is TODAY, Sept. 22, and GV will be celebrating with a week of events designed to educate students about voting, democracy, and the registration process.
The deadline to register to vote online or by mail is Oct. 9 (for MI residents), and election day is Nov. 3. Don’t let the deadline sneak up on you – register to vote today!

Laker Tips & Tricks: 4 Ways to Make Friends This Semester
Let’s face it – meeting new people is complicated right now. Thankfully, there are plenty of options for meeting people without even leaving the house. Here are four tips for making friends during this roller coaster of a semester.
Staying Safe by Staying in Place
Reminder: The Ottawa County Health Department, Ottawa County, and Grand Valley are working together to enforce a new, two-week “Staying in Place” order. The order is being enforced now through Oct. 1.
All Lakers who reside in Allendale are encouraged to read the full order to thoroughly understand what is allowed and what they should avoid. It is increasingly important that everyone participates with the order fully in order to keep each other safe. Remember, we’re all in this together!
