Return to Swimming at Ensworth Natatorium

What we need you to do:
  • Fill out the Covid-19 questionnaire prior to entering the building for each practice session.  Parents must fill out the questionnaire for anyone 18 & younger for every single practice session.

  • Arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before scheduled practice time and depart no later than 5 minutes following the conclusion of practice

  • Wear face-covering until swim practice begins and put it on once practice is over
Covid-19 Questionnaire
How to enter and exit the building:
  • Athletes must enter the facility through designated entry areas (exterior balcony to west entrance by Coach Bahr &  Goeken office) while maintaining appropriate physical distancing.

  • Athletes must exit the facility from the door on the southeast corner of pool deck, adjacent to the new parking area.

  • Doors will be propped to prevent/minimize touching common surface

  • We will have signage to direct swimmers to the correct entry and exit points
How we will approach shared spaces and equipment:
  • Locker rooms will not be accessible.  All athletes must arrive and leave wearing bathing suits.  Changing in the building is strictly prohibited.

  • There will be access to restrooms connected to large locker rooms during practice sessions.  Athletes are expected to wash hands for at least 20 seconds after using restrooms.

  • Athletes must bring their own filled water bottle for each practice.

  • Athletes will place backpacks and equipment on marked spaces on the pool deck that are measured to ensure adherence to physical distancing protocols

  • Athletes must bring all practice equipment home following the conclusion of each practice (mesh bags)

  • Any equipment left on deck will be collected immediately following a practice. Any unclaimed belongings will be donated or thrown away every two weeks beginning Monday, June 15.

  • Athletes with equipment at the pool will be able to clear that equipment out on the first day they return to the facility

  • There will be no access to shared equipment (kickboards, pull buoys, fins).

  • Parents are not permitted in the facility at this time

  • Coaches for athletes 10 and younger will accompany athletes to parking lot area for pick-up

  • Parents are welcome to wait in their cars during practice sessions

  • Do not congregate in the parking area in violation of physical distancing guidelines either before, during, or after practice

What we will do:
  • All Natatorium Staff members will take Covid-19 questionnaire prior to entering the facility and adhere to the Mayor’s guidelines during applicable reopening phases

  • All staff members will wear face masks

  • A staff member will be doing temperature checks for all athletes entering the facility.  Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 or higher will not be permitted into the facility and should contact their health care provider and consider self-quarantine.  A staff member will immediately contact the parents of an athlete if the athlete’s temperature is 100.4 or higher.

  • Coaches will take attendance at each practice to help with contact tracing should the need arise

  • Staff members will sanitize common touch areas after each practice session.  These include door handles, pool ladders, and flagpoles.

  • The facility will be sanitized daily by a professional janitorial services company

  • All staff will enforce physical distancing before, during, and after all practice sessions

  • Coaches will escort athletes under 10 years old into the parking lot area following the conclusion of their practice sessions

  • Staff Members will only use the Staff Locker Room or Family Changing Room.  Staff will NOT use athlete restrooms
