Yesterday we welcomed nearly 400 first-year and transfer students to campus! The day was filled with emotional goodbyes yet so much excitement for this new chapter. This weekend, we look forward to welcoming our returning students back to campus as our community comes together once again ahead of the first day of classes on Monday, August 31.
Before you know it, it will be time to join your student back on campus during Family and Friends Weekend! Save the date for October 23–25, 2026, and start planning your visit now. Registration details and the full schedule will be released in mid-September. Events will begin the afternoon of Friday, October 23, and run though Sunday morning.

First-year: Working on Campus
Many students work on campus during the academic year, gaining valuable experience while contributing meaningfully to the campus community. Working on campus offers opportunities for leadership experience, skill development, mentorship, and career exploration. Learn more about student employment →
Sophomore: Clubs and Organizations
Now that your student has settled into life at Haverford, encourage them to expand their involvement outside of the classroom by exploring more than the 160-plus recognized clubs and organizations on campus. Getting involved is a great way to build community, pursue a new interest, develop leadership skills, or even start a new organization.
Junior: CCPA Resources
Whether your student needs feedback on their resume, tips on interviewing, advice on preparing for fellowships, or how to make alumni connections the CCPA is a great resource for your student. Some of the resources available include 15 minute resume reviews, professional headshots, and one-on-one appointments. Senior: Life Beyond Graduation
Whether your student is planning to enter the workforce, pursue graduate or professional school, pursue a fellowship, or take advantage of a gap year opportunity, the Center for Career and Professional Advising offers resources and guidance for life beyond graduation. Encourage your student to explore these opportunities early–many nationally competitive fellowship applications have deadlines in the early fall, making advanced planning essential.

We were thrilled to welcome nearly 400 new Fords to campus yesterday as members of the Class of 2030 during Move-In Day.
This week, our first-year students will get to know each other during Customs, one of Haverford’s oldest traditions. These moments are made possible by the annual fund, which enhances the Haverford student experience, academic opportunities, and so much more.
