Goodwin College Becomes a University
After celebrating 20 years of empowering hard-working students to become sought-after employees, Goodwin College kicked off 2020 by announcing its transition to Goodwin University. Over the past two decades, Goodwin has evolved from a technology training center into a leading nonprofit institution of higher learning that offers certificate programs as well as associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees.
On January 6th, President Mark Scheinberg delivered the news to alumni, reinforcing the committment to the Goodwin community. Mark said, "While our name has changed, please know that our committement to doing what's best for our students is unwavering. We will continue to do all we can to offer our hard-working students - and our alumni - what they need to succeed."
As part of the transition to Goodwin University, Goodwin has reorganized its five academic departments under three schools. These schools will be led by current department chairs who have been elevated to deans to better reflect their responsibility for creating partnerships within the institution and community. Our respective deans: Dean Dr. Paula Dowd, School of Nursing and Health Professions. Dean Dr. Cliff Thermer, School of Business, Technology, and Advanced Manufacturing. Dean Dr. Diana LaRocco, School of Applied Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. "I think the future for Goodwin University is remarkably bright,” Dr. Cliff Thermer reflects.
If you would like to receive an updated diploma reflecting the University's name, please contact Allison Misky, Registrar at (860) 913-2117 or amisky@goodwin.edu. It may be delayed until the campus reopens, but the option is available for those who are interested.
