Join me in congratulating our newest 300+ members of the Sanford alumni family! On May 6, Sanford celebrated our 2022 graduates, who received their degrees 50 years after the start of public policy at Duke. This resilient class includes award winners, thesis writers, global change makers, scholarship recipients, innovators of policy solutions, and more.

Now, more than ever, the world needs public policy graduates to provide analysis plus action.

Sanford Development and Alumni Relations invites alumni to honor Donna Dyer, who has been guiding students through career decisions since 1997. Join us at RTP’s Boxyard, a shipping container restaurant and entertainment venue. New Sanford School Graduates tossing caps

Welcome New Alumni!

This past weekend, more than 300 new graduates from our undergraduate and graduate programs of the Class of 2022 joined the ranks of Sanford School alumni. The group included a student who earned his graduate degree while living in Rwanda, one who returned to complete his MPP after 20 years, and Duke’s first Chinese American student government president. Alumni Profile:
Sonia Sekhar MPP'14

Sonia Sekhar MPP’14 was the alumna speaker during the Sanford graduate ceremony on May 6. Sekhar is the deputy director of the New York State of Health, the state’s official health plan marketplace. She is proud of the work her team did in response to the pandemic, to ensure that millions of New Yorkers kept their health insurance and more gained access. Read her profile here.
