This week's teaching tips share strategies for revisiting class assignments. In the latest What's Working video (linked above), Anne Wood - lecturer and internship director in Consumer, Apparel and Retail Studies department at UNCG - shares what's working for her as she uses inspiration from other class assignments to create new assignments in other classes. This video features an example created by her Graduate Assistant, Cadye Murphy.
Another way to revisit your class assignments is to seek input from students by conducting mid-semester feedback! Try creating a digital form (you can try out Microsoft Forms or use Google Forms this semester) to collect feedback anonymously. Mid-semester feedback can ask about the class in general using either the four question model or the start-stop-continue model (also known as stop, keep, start), or you can modify the survey to ask about particular assignments. Either way, be sure to follow up on the feedback promptly and address any questions or concerns with students so they know their voices have been heard!
