Introducing the Call Discernment Team for Rev. Hannah!
At our Annual Meeting on June 2nd, you heard about the Governing Board and Executive Team’s plans to ask the congregation to call Rev. Hannah as a co-minister with Rev. Christina. You can review the information shared here. To help steward this process, we’ve assembled a great team of people to help us! The Call Discernment Team is Brian Murton, Dave Gerlach, Marti Wheeler, Sam Zinth, and Tim Watson, and we’re so grateful for their willingness to serve. The team has met and is looking forward to sharing more information with you, including a timeline, planned events, and more information about what it means to call a minister. Please be on the lookout for a special email from the team in mid-July full of all that information and more! If you have questions in the meantime, please reach out to the Governing Board (fvuufboard@fvuuf.org), Rev. Hannah (hannah@fvuuf.org), or Rev. Christina (christina@fvuuf.org).

Opportunities for Middle and High School Youth: Summer Fellowship Community Engagement
Did you know that summer offers terrific and developmentally appropriate opportunities to help our young people engage more deeply in their faith, explore higher-level concepts of UUism, and participate in Fellowship Life?
Here’s how…
Acting as Teacher Assistants in our elementary summer classes or nursery
Benefits include…
•  “There is no better way to learn than to teach.” Helps reinforce concepts and make connections in areas such as UU values, history, practices, philosophy, etc.
•  Gives young people the opportunity to role model UU values and behavior
•  Helps create friendships/relationships across generations
•  Helps our elementary students view our “Fellowship Family” as multi-generational
•  Nurtures understanding of the central role that participation and volunteering are the backbone of our community
Attending and Participating in Services
Benefits include…
•  Helps our adult community view our young people as being vital, present, and participatory part of our community
•  Helps our young people develop higher level and critical thinking skills
•  Helps young people develop a real connection with the sanctuary and our faith. Young people who feel little connection to the sanctuary/adult community often struggle to participate in the UU community after high school
Taking on a Leadership Role During Services
Benefits include those outlined above and roles could be handing out Orders of Service, Ushering, Door Greeter, and more.
Please contact Kim Hartman or Rev. Christina for information about how to get involved with assistant teaching or helping during the service.

Summer Religious Exploration for Kids
Our summer religious exploration classes for rising kindergartners-5th grade children have begun. We will build our skills of exploration, curiosity, and imagination by drawing from both our Magic and Can-Do Summer curriculums. Our young learners will participate in activities designed to help them find the magic to connect to their deepest inner lives, their community, and to the joy of life around them through…
•  Service to Others
•  Silence and Mindfulness
•  Sunshine and Movement
Fall registrations carry through the summer - no need to register your child(ren) if they are registered for the 2023-2024 program year. If your family is just joining us, watch for our 2024-2025 program year registration form coming in July
We look forward to engaging curiosity and spending time in community with our young learners this summer!
