2019 Provost's Excellence in Undergraduate Advising

The Provost's Excellence in Undergraduate Advising is a recognition of individuals who demonstrate excellence, commitment and dedication to advising undergraduate students at UIC. All nominees will be recognized during Advisor Week (3/26/2018-3/29/2018) and up to three individuals will be awarded a monetary prize from the Provost.

Who should be nominated?
Any non-faculty professional who demonstrates excellence, commitment and dedication to advising undergraduate students at UIC.
Who can nominate? 
Anyone including individuals themselves! Students, faculty and staff are able to submit a nomination.

Undergraduate Research Projects and Creative Presentations

Student submissions for undergraduate research projects and creative presentations for the 2019 UIC Impact and Research Day (formerly known as the UIC Student Research Forum) will open in January 2019


The Impact and Research Day will take place on Wednesday, April 10, 2019, 1:00pm - 5:00pm, UIC Forum725 W. Roosevelt Rd.

Pre-Med Job Opportunity 

If you're looking for the perfect opportunity to gain exposure in medicine while gaining clinical experience, then scribing might be for you. Medical scribes are in the front lines of medicine, who are trained in medical documentation and assist a physician throughout their shift. 

This is also a great way to gain a letter of recomendation from a M.D or D.O, to be utuilized towards your medical school application.

Attend a panel discussion made up of qualified experts in ethnobotany, sustainability, and conservation. The discussion will be followed up by a Q&A session with the audience and an interactive exhibit with examples of medicial plants and herbs from the Trickster Gallery's garden collection.

  RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES 

Magnetic Field Laboratory 

Apply for the opportunity to work closely with faculty, do an in depth research project, and earn a $5,000 stipend. Students will be working in any of the three following Magnetic Lab locations:
The National High Magnetic Field Lab in Tallahassee, FL. The Magnet Lab at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL and the Magnet Lab's pulse facility at Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM.
