Yikes! I have an important guest coming to my departmental meeting, but I forgot to tell her to upload her proof of vaccination. It’d be pretty embarrassing to have her turned away. Is there anything that can be done at this point?
There is.
Starting today, the University is launching Vaccination Check Stations in three locations as part of our effort to make it easier for guests to visit campus. So, visitors who have been sponsored by an NYU employee, but who have not uploaded proof of vaccination in advance, may go to one of the vaccination check stations and have their proof verified on the spot.
The three locations, which will be open Monday through Friday, 8:00 am-6:00 pm, are:
- Gould Welcome Center (Address: 50 West 4th Street)
- 2 MetroTech Center Lobby
- NYU College of Dentistry (Address: 345 East 24th Street)
There, visitors who present valid proof of vaccination will receive a “vaccination verification receipt” good for one week. The receipt confirms compliance with our vaccination requirements; it can be presented, along with the visitor’s ID, to Campus Safety Officers to permit entry.
A few important notes:
- Visitors still must be sponsored by an NYU employee, and—one way or the other—they must provide proof of vaccination.
- The vaccination check stations do not replace the pre-arrival upload process. The University still prefers that sponsored visitors upload proof of vaccination well in advance, and that the vaccination check stations be used as a fallback arrangement to make same-day access possible for visitors who didn’t upload proof in advance.
- Visitors who need to be on campus for more than one week will either need to visit a vaccination check station again or upload their proof of vaccination.
- Visitors seeking admission to campus who have a valid vaccination exemption must be approved in advance through the online submission process. Exemptions and test results will not be reviewed at the stations.
