Dear UCSB Affiliates,

Summer may be wrapping up, but that doesn’t mean the fun has to!

To kick off our fall programming, the Affiliates are partnering with UCSB’s Naked Shakes for Shakespeare & Snacks on Campus! Get swept away by a stormy tale of magic, revenge, love, and redemption as the award-winning UC Santa Barbara’s Naked Shakes bring Shakespeare’s mystical masterpiece, The Tempest, to life. We invite you to join for an opening act of light fare, good company, and chance to hear from Naked Shakes director, Irwin Appel. Parking will be available in Lot 23.

Stay tuned as we continue to highlight more opportunities to connect, learn, and explore all that UCSB and the greater Santa Barbara community has to offer. In the meantime, if you have any questions or ideas about future Affiliates events, email affiliates@ia.ucsb.edu.

Last week, the Trump Administration demanded a $1 billion settlement from UCLA after previously freezing $584 million in research grants. It was an unprecedented attack on public higher education.
