This year's Gargoyle Gala--one of Grad Council’s premier semi-formal events--is just a few days away, on Saturday, 11/8! This year’s event will be held at Navy Pier’s stunning Aon Grand Ballroom. Each attendee and guest must have purchased a ticket, be 21+, and bring a valid legal ID to enter the Gala.

Navy Pier Event Center is located on the far East End of Navy Pier past Sable Hotel. Follow onsite signs to find Festival Hall or Aon Grand Ballroom. Doors will open at 7:00 p.m. We have secured parking spots for those who need them in Navy Pier’s two on-site parking garages, West Garage and East Garage for $20.

Award-winning translators and UChicago faculty will discuss how they teach multilingual and monolingual translation workshops; translation in the language classroom; the role of translation theory; and they'll demonstrate a live workshopping of a translation-in-progress. | Workshop: Introduction to Quantum Simulators & Algorithms

In this workshop, we review some basic quantum computing concepts, then introduce some quantum simulators such as qiskit, cudaq, pennylane. We provide an introduction to quantum computing applications and algorithms, by focusing on an example, looking at Quantum Approximate Optimization Algorithm (QAOA) algorithm for solving MaxCut as the candidate problem.
