Welcome to Tennessee CASA, Lynne!
Lynne Farrar,
Executive Director of TN CASA
The Tennessee CASA Board of Directors is pleased to announce Lynne Farrar as its new executive director, effective April 28, 2014. Farrar has served as the executive director of CASA Works, Inc., a local CASA program serving Bedford, Coffee, and Franklin counties, since 2010.
“On behalf of the board, I am delighted to welcome Lynne Farrar as the new executive director,” said Board President Kevin Balkwill. “Her wealth of experience and demonstrated leadership in serving as a local CASA program executive director will ensure continuity and a seamless transition.”
Farrar will continue the work of retired executive director Cheryl Hultman in moving TN CASA forward in its goal to ensure all abused and neglected children in Tennessee will have a trained volunteer to advocate on their behalf by 2020. “We are grateful to Cheryl Hultman for TN CASA’s achievements during her tenure and are thus fortunate to have an experienced leader as her successor,” added Balkwill.
“I am excited to be joining TN CASA as its next executive director,” Farrar said. “I hope to provide leadership in the years to come so that all abused and neglected children in Tennessee have a CASA volunteer standing by their side, speaking up for their best interests, and giving them hope for the future.”
Prior to serving as executive director of CASA Works, Farrar was the associate director for The Center for Family Development in Shelbyville, TN, creating the original CASA program serving Bedford and Coffee counties since 2000. Farrar is a rural advisor for the National CASA Association and a council member of Building Strong Families. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and business from Middle Tennessee State University.
