Psalm 121:7-8
The Lord will keep you from all harm—
    he will watch over your life;
the Lord will watch over your coming and going
    both now and forevermore.

New International Version (NIV)
              Both of my sons played catcher in little league, though I never did.  With all of the equipment they wore, they were well protected so I never worried about them.  Of course they were never trying to catch Justin Verlander or Ken Giles.   Imagine being a catcher without any protection.  Imagine being the Dodger’s reliever Josh Fields against Altuve and Correa.
                The new Christian Standard Bible translates the verbs in these verses with “protect” all three times.  “The Lord will protect you from all harm; he will protect your life.  The Lord will protect your coming and going both now and forevermore.”  Earlier God is called, “Your Protector, the Protector of Israel.”
                The world can be a harmful place.  God is our Protector.  Life is complicated.  God is our Protector.  Watch for God today.  Whether we are coming or going today, God is our Protector, watching over us.  We have nothing to fear.
Pray with me:
Father, thank you for your protection today.  We slept in peace because you protected us.  The sun rising on this new day reminds us that you are watching over us as our Protector.   Help us to live fearlessly today.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
I want to invite you to join me in memorizing 52 passages this year from the 2017 set of Fighter Verses.  You can find the Fighter Verses App at the App Store on your phones or via this link  http://fighterverses.com/the-verses/fighter-verses/As we study the Bible this year, let's look at each text and learn what it says about God.
Joyfully,
