Responding to Sexual Violence Against Israeli Women
The Fund for Women and Girls at the Jewish Community Foundation (by The Jewish Federation) is responding to the systematic sexual violence inflicted on Israeli women and girls during the October 7th terrorist attacks by raising awareness, convening frontline leaders to share the brutal realities that women and girls are facing, and conducting a second round of grantmaking to help Israeli women and girls recover from trauma and more. Join us to take a stand against sexual assault by contributing to the fund by Friday, March 22nd.

| Your Impact: Creating a Wave of Hope for Israelis
After October 7th, there was a sharp rise in the need for trauma services throughout Israel. To help, Federation's Israel Crisis Relief Fund – your donations – directly supported HaGal Sheli, an organization that supports Israeli teenagers and young adults with structured emotional processing to reduce the risk of post-traumatic stress and empower them on their journey to healing.

Economic Resilience in Israel
Your generosity has powered Federation to provide an additional $2 million to support economic development and resilience as well as direct community support to Israelis. As the economy suffers from the effects of war – due to the displacement of a quarter of a million people from their homes and businesses – Federation is committed to ensuring Israelis can receive critical financial relief.

| Three Minutes in Hamas Captivity Exhibit
More than 240 people were taken from their homes on the morning of Saturday, October 7th by the terrorist organization Hamas. These hostages have endured atrocious conditions and have suffered from sexual, psychological, and physical torture for over 160 days. We invite you and your wider circle to a significant three-minute sensory experience where you can perceive, even if just a little, what it is like to be in Hamas' tunnels.

Elevate your Family's Purim Celebrations
The holiday of Purim begins at sundown this Saturday, March 23rd. Jews will celebrate by hearing the megillah (the Book of Esther, which tells the story of Purim), dressing up, sharing gifts of food with friends (mishloach manot), giving to those in need (matanot l’evyonim), and having a festive meal (seudah). Check out PJ Library of Greater Washington’s Purim resources for recipes, book lists, costume ideas, and more.
