Good morning! This week's Fiercely Forward Friday features a student whose Clemson Experience highlights the power of community and communication. Attend three Clemson Athletics events tonight for $15; A new gift supports global opportunities for College of Architecture, Art and Construction students.

FIERCELY FORWARD FRIDAY

This week’s Fiercely Forward Friday features Serena Johnson, a student who has found her voice and her community in Tigertown. Through small seminar-style classes in the English program, her internship with the Pearce Center for Professional Communication and her time in the CONNECTIONS Living-Learning Community, Johnson has built a close-knit network that feels like home.

A $1 million gift from Thom (’72, M '74) and Gretchen McKellar Penney (’83) has established the Penney Global Engagement Fund to support global opportunities for students in the College of Architecture, Art and Construction.

Through NASA’s RockSat program and a special international partnership mission, Clemson students designed, built and tested a scientific payload that was integrated onto a rocket launched from the Andøya Space Center in Norway.

THIS WEEKEND IN ATHLETICS

For $15, fans can attend three Clemson home events tonight:

Softball vs. Louisville at 4 p.m.
Gymnastics vs. BYU in its Senior Night meet at 6 p.m.
Baseball vs. Georgia Tech at 8 p.m.

Softball will continue their series with Louisville Saturday at 1 p.m. and Sunday at noon. Baseball will also host Georgia Tech Saturday at 3 p.m.

Women's tennis hosts Virginia Tech Saturday at noon.

Men's tennis hosts Florida State today at 5 p.m. and a doubleheader on Sunday against Miami (Fla.) at 11 a.m., followed by Elon at 4 p.m.

Track & Field will compete in the NCAA Indoor Championships this weekend in Fayetteville, Ark.

MORE FROM TIGERTOWN

Reminder: Both lanes of South Palmetto Boulevard will be closed at the intersection of Williamson Road for three days during the week of March 16-20 to repair asphalt. Cooper Library will also be closed March 18-21 for electrical work.

The next professional headshot day will be Wednesday, March 25, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in room 413 in Cooper Library. No appointment is necessary to receive new or updated headshots. This event is for Clemson faculty and staff only.
