Busy Bees 4-H Club Brings the Fair to Tower View

On August 25, club members brought some of their fair projects to Tower View Assisted Living. They showed and talked about their projects. Some of the projects brought were photos, drawings, a cow, a rabbit, and some baked goods. The residents enjoyed it as well as the members. Submitted by: Gabrielle W, Reporter

Small Animal Meeting - September 17

This is our after-fair review. Please bring ALL questions, comments, concerns, and complaints. Having this meeting allows us to try to improve the project as a whole. We value insight from all families in the project. If anyone feels they can’t express their comments/concerns or you can’t make the meeting, please email Jaime at fdlsmallanimal@gmail.com.

  • June 3, 2025 (Entry help & showmanship clinic) held in the small animal barn
  • June 28, 2025 (Barn Set up) 
  • July 8, 2025 (Showmanship Clinic) held in small animal barn

Project Leader Training

We invite anyone interested in becoming a project leader and current protect leaders, both youth and adults, to the 4-H Project Leader Training. This training will include hands-on activities and resources available for project leaders. Youth and adult volunteers in Fond du Lac, Ozaukee, and Washington Counties are welcome to attend. 
Please indicate below which date you will be joining us:
  • Thursday, September 26, 2024. 6-8 pm Washington County 
  • Tuesday, November 12, 2024.  6-8 pm Ozaukee County
  • Saturday, February 22, 2025. 1-3 pm Fond du Lac County 
4-H Fall Kickoff scheduled for October 2, 6:00 - 8:00 pm with a Hawaiian theme
2024 4-H Fall Kick-Off
When: Wednesday, 
October 2,
 6-8 pm
Where: Fond du Lac County Campus (FCC - formally the UW Oshkosh FDL Campus)

Who should attend:
 New members, general club leaders, and youth leaders
What to Bring:
 Bring your ideas, pencils/pens, paper for notes, dress in your 4-H apparel, or dress up to show your Hawaiian Luau spirit

Clubs will get a chance to plan out the year, get new ideas, share with other clubs, collaborate, play games and fun activities, and win some prizes! The club with the most participants in attendance will win a prize. Refreshments to match our kick-off theme will be served.

Awards & Trip Funding - Due Sunday, September 15

Apply for the 2024 4-H Key Award 
The Key Award is the highest state 4-H award earned by members who have shown consistent growth in their 4-H involvement, developed and applied their leadership skills, and actively participated in their 4-H club and community. Youth in grades 11-13 are eligible to apply. Up to 4 recipients from Fond du Lac County can be selected. To be eligible for an award, you must turn in a completed application by September 15 and interview. 
Apply for 2024-2025 Educational Experience Funding
To be eligible for funding for an educational experience, you must turn in a completed application by September 15 and interview. 

Apply for 2024 Citizenship, Leadership, or
Growth Achievement Awards
Citizenship - Citizenship is an individual’s response to their membership in a community.  A member selected for this recognition should have high participation, strong achievement, and various leadership and community service roles. The member must have completed at least grade 11 at the time of application.

Leadership - The member is selected for outstanding work as a Youth Leader at the club and county level. Emphasis is placed upon leadership, teaching, and sharing as a Youth Leader. The member must have completed at least grade 9 at the time of application. 

4-H Growth Achievement - This award recognizes a member’s overall accomplishment in 4-H over a period of time. It is earned by a member who shows a positive attitude, involvement, growth, breadth, and depth in project, club, and county 4-H activities. The member must have completed at least grade 9 at the time of application.

4-H Re-enrollment is OPEN!
We would love to see you participate in the Fond du Lac County 4-H program. The Fond du Lac county deadline for returning members is Thursday, October 31 at 11:59 pm. We highly encourage youth to enroll as soon as possible to ensure they don't miss out on any opportunities.
