| Alex Chattwood, former UBC scientist and current Education Manager of the Geneskool outreach program at Genome BC, will take you on an interactive tour into the world of slime molds. Alex will use live demonstrations to illustrate how his favourite slime mold, Dictyostelium discoideum, goes from a solitary to social existence and explain how researchers use it to explore questions related to human biology.

Come by for a night at the museum and learn more about the research that is happening behind the scenes. Admission is by donation with family-friendly activities all evening, including: - 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm Microbiome: another vital sign – the case of farmed Pacific oysters in the museum’s auditorium
- 7:00 pm Backyard Biodiversity Tour (this will be replaced by an indoor museum tour if it is raining)
- 7:45 pm Raising Big Blue showing
- All evening: Hands-on activities where you can learn more about specimens in the museum and our current exhibitions.

Ecosystems In Play: Exploring Biodiversity Through Gaming
September 17, 2016 - August 20, 2017
How can ecologists inspire children to learn about the natural world in a way that is fun and familiar? This exhibition lets you step inside Phylo - a game that lets you collect, trade, and play with cards based on real-life organisms - and see how life within an ecosystem is connected, and how some environmental events can have damaging effects on life.

Nature Vancouver Photography Competition 2017
May 7 - November 17, 2017
Every year, Nature Vancouver receives hundreds of entries in its annual members photography competition. Photographs are entered in one or more of five categories: Botany, Birds, Mammals, Entomology and Spiders, and Other Natural History. This exhibition features the first, second, and third place winners in each category as well as the best in show for 2017.

Life In Colour
September 16, 2017 - February 18, 2018
Colour your way through nature on a giant mural that showcases ecosystems from BC and around the world. Presented by Hemlock Printers, artist Angela Gooliaff explores keystone species in both the terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems, employing feminine symbology of peace and wisdom, and story through a giant interactive colouring book mural.

Tuesday-Sunday 10:00 am - 5:00 pm, closed on Mondays and statutory holidays.
The museum is open late on the third Thursday of every month with admission by donation.
