Important Information for St. Michael's Christmas Pageant (PLEASE READ)
Dear St. Michael’s K-3 Families,
One of the most special ways St. Michael’s welcomes the holiday season is through our annual Christmas Pageant, featuring students in grades K-3. We are pleased to continue this cherished tradition which started at St M in the early 1970s.
The Pageant will be presented twice in the Perkinson Arts Center on Tuesday, December 19, at 8:30 and 10 a.m., based on Lower School homerooms. Please note the time below for your child's section.
Each K-3 child is allotted six (6) guests at their designated pageant performance.
First Performance:
- 8:30 a.m. for the following homerooms: Adams, Mitchell, Jones, Brooks
Second Performance:
- 10 a.m. for the following homerooms: Rowe, Reining, Rogers, Hettrick
- NOTE: If you decide to bring your child later on Tuesday, please let your teacher know ASAP.
Afterwards: Please leave campus directly after your pageant to facilitate noon carpool pickup. You may take your child with you, or you may return for noon pickup, but you must leave campus and return to get in the regular carline.
Costumes:
- Mary, Sheep, and Doves: white shirt and white leggings/sweatpants
- Joseph: white shirt and dress pants
- Cows and Donkey: white shirt and leggings/sweatpants (color doesn’t matter)
- Star: White top and white tights/leggings
- Choir: white tops, dark skirts or slacks
- Angels: white tops and white tights or khaki pants (school will furnish the robes)
- Shepherds: dark slacks, shirt with NO collar (School will furnish the robes)
- Wisemen: dark slacks and shirt with NO collar (School will furnish the robes)
- Narrators: dress clothes
Parents, please help children learn their parts and songs. If your child cannot be at school on December 19, please notify his/her teacher as soon as possible.
A note about younger siblings:
Your child's performance is a highlight of their year. They have worked hard and are excited about sharing it with you. You are welcome to bring siblings, but please be sure the sibling can stay quiet and relatively still for the entire performance. Siblings acting in a distracting manner must be taken from the auditorium immediately, which results in the parent missing their child's performance. Therefore, we strongly suggest that siblings whose behavior is still unpredictable stay home.
A note about older siblings:
Older siblings attending St. Michael’s will be attending one of the dress rehearsals on Monday. However, they are also welcome to attend the pageant with their families as one of each family’s six guests.
Please reach out to your child's teacher with any specific pageant questions.
Thank you for your support,
St. Michael's Lower School Teachers
