Updates and Reminders

Residents who have applied for graduation for either Spring 2025 or Summer 2025 will be eligible to remain in the residence halls until after their degree celebration.

End of Semester Move Out Timeline |
As residents begin to prepare for the end of the semester, be sure to keep the following in mind:
|
- All residence halls close at 5:00pm on May 14th.

Only residents who are graduating Spring 2025, Summer 2025, or are participating in extended stay for Full Session, Session A, D, or E are able to remain past the halls closing on May 14th.
- No other extended stay options are available.
- Residents must make sure they have made the necessary travel arrangements to ensure they checkout by 5:00pm on May 14th if they are not graduating or remaining on campus for summer housing.
- Residents who have a final before Noon on May 14th will need to move out that day.
- Residents who have a final after Noon on May 14th can request an extension to 9:00am on May 15th.

Residents must e-mail a copy of their syllabus or communication from their professor regarding their final reflecting the day and time to housing@gmu.edu by May 1st to be eligible for an extension.

Move Out Timeline for Graduating Residents |
Graduating residents are eligible to remain on campus until after their degree celebration or the university's commencement ceremony, whichever is the latest of the two celebrations. Residents should be sure to check the Graduating Resident schedule for information regarding when they need to check out of the residence halls.

Housing and Residence Life has partnered with the UPS Store to offer $300 summer storage for all residents. The fee includes up to 5 boxes, tape, and labels. To reduce frustrations with hauling personal belongings across campus, UPS will be offering drop off locations in close proximity to the residence halls. Living on campus for the fall? Residents will have their belongings placed in their Fall 2025 space prior to move in. No need to stress about unloading in the fall semester!
