Gordon, Nebraska is populated by just 1,500 people, but the town's spirit and vibrant atmosphere rivals cities twice its size. We traveled to the northwest corner of the state to talk to Gordon's locals about the arts in their community, the status of the Gordon Theater, and why you should put the annual Willow Tree Festival on your calendar.

Garan Coons


Garan Coons is a professional Oglala Lakota dancer, singer, flute player and storyteller.
The stories he tells and the culture he shares have inspired people all across the midwest. We caught up with Garan to talk about his journey as someone sharing his native culture, and why that work means so much to him.
