Speaker discusses inclusion and equity in higher education; Community Involvement Fair helps students find ways to volunteer; women’s lacrosse begins season; and more
Celebrate the generosity of those who invest in the IUP experience during Thank a Donor Week, February 28–March 4. Students can stop by the Stapleton Library Commons on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to write a thank-you note and be eligible for prizes. Thank-you notes can also be completed online.
6:00–7:30 p.m., Leonard Hall, Room B10, and Zoom. Jessica Spradley of the Care Based Leadership Collaborative will discuss inclusion and equity in higher education in this talk, sponsored by the IUP Libraries and the Office of Social Equity.
Head to the Kovalchick Complex to see the Hawks take on the Pitt-Johnstown Mountain Cats. The women’s team takes the floor at 1:00 p.m. and the men’s team at 3:00 p.m.
5:00–8:00 p.m., Breezedale. Learn more about this organization that works to engage IUP alumni and current students with campus life. Applications for membership are due March 6.
9:00 a.m.–Noon, Leonard Hall Lobby. Stop by for coffee and donuts and learn about the study-away programs available to you as a student. Also, vote for your favorite entry in the Travel Photo Contest.
10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m., HUB Ohio Room. Students can learn about volunteer opportunities in the community and about how to use work-study money to get paid for some community work.
3:00–4:00 p.m., Elkin Hall Great Room. Join this week’s discussion in the Leadership in a Multicultural Society workshop series, which explores topics related to diversity, inclusion, and leadership.
