The Art of Community with Midwest Special Services
This fall and winter, Upstream Arts and Midwest Special Services are excited to be partnering on a new initiative: the Art of Community.
In tandem with our Art of Voice and Choice program, which focuses on self-advocacy, the Art of Community trainings focus on supporting all of our communities to be more inclusive of people with disabilities.
Stay tuned for more details on trainings and upcoming events.

Professional Development for Educators
Since June, Co-founders Matt Guidry and Julie Guidry have worked with over a dozen Minneapolis Public Schools teachers, immersing them in our pedagogy of arts based instructional strategies and concepts of Universal Design for teaching and learning.

Join the Conversation
Each month in this corner, we share resources related to our ongoing campaign to generate artistic reflection and public conversation about stigma associated with disability.
This month we are sharing a New York Times article about InclusiveU and similar college programs aimed at increasing employment among people with intellectual disabilities. Embedded on university campuses, these programs offer more choices and opportunities as they integrate communities and expand expectations.
As always, we welcome your thoughts via email, Facebook, or Twitter.
