Remembering Dylan

Earlier this month, UCCS 2021 graduate Dylan Prosser passed away. Dylan enrolled at UCCS the minute his grandma learned about the Office of Inclusive Services because he wanted to study criminal justice, and that is exactly what he did. Dylan took every class he could related to criminal justice and did his internship with the El Paso County Police Department. Dylan's capstone was "Communication Between People with Disabilities and the Police Departments."

Dylan had a significant impact on his professors and fellow students; he will be deeply missed. In Dylan's memory, his family created the Dylan’s Journey Memorial Scholarship, a scholarship to be awarded annually to an individual with learning disabilities and/or Neurofibromatosis to pursue their college dreams. To contribute, please visit “Dylan’s Journey Memorial Scholarship” on Bold.org. IN! will be contributing $1,000 in Dylan's memory - as one of the first students to access inclusive services at UCCS, Dylan's legacy is large.

Community Presentations

Isabelle graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in May of 2021. She loved being involved with the swim club and a Catholic group on campus. She also lived on campus. Isabelle wants to teach high school students about the importance of inclusion in the world of education.
Would you like Isabelle to speak to your class, group, or organization? Reach out to IN!'s Education and Outreach Program Coordinator to set something up.

Pursuring Film Studies

In celebration of Down Syndrome Awareness Month, Ruby's Rainbow, a nonprofit that awards scholarships to college students with Down syndrome, is spotlighting UCCS students.
UCCS senior, Reilly, has an ultimate goal to become a filmmaker and film critic. This semester he has an internship where he is gaining experience working with cameras. To see him in action, check out this recent video of Reilly (click here to watch). To follow along with more UCCS student stories, head on over to the Ruby's Rainbow Facebook page.
