JumpStart Job Fair

Employers hiring for full-time, part-time, seasonal/temporary, summer internships and work-based learning opportunities are invited to recruit juniors and graduating high school seniors for open positions during the JumpStart Job Fair.

Space for this FREE event is limited. Registration includes one six-foot table and two chairs.

The Amazing Shake

Congratulations to our top two Amazing Shake Winners - Selah Mosley Powell from Smyrna Primary and Natalee Drummond from Eagleville Elementary. In total, 18 semi-finalists from nine schools competed. During the two day event, students completed seven surprise tasks judged by 30 volunteers. As the contest winners, Selah and Natalee will advance to the national competition at Ron Clark Academy this April.

We want like to thank our amazing volunteers, event sponsors and the participating staff from Murfreesboro City Schools and Rutherford County Schools for making this year's event a huge success.

Charlie Apigian wins Data Scientist of the Year

Congratulations to Dr. Charlie Apigian, a member of our Rutherford Works tech council, for winning Data Scientist of the Year at the 11th Annual Nashville Tech Council Awards. Apigian is a Professor and Director of the Data Science Institute at MTSU, where he teaches big data concepts with machine learning and predictive analytics. The Data Science Institute works to partner business and academics to solve real problems and create an approach to strategic decision making.

Teacher Externship Program

Mark your calendars!

Applications for the 2020 Teacher Externship Program will open on February 17.

This program aims to connect middle school teachers with employers in the five high-demand, high-wage industry sectors in Rutherford County so they can speak from experience as they advise students on educational and career goals.

The externship program will run from June 8 – June 19, 2020. Educators must be able to commit to 2 weeks (10 days) of work during this timeframe.
