The Cheerful Helpers community came together to honor and celebrate our donors on Saturday, June 10th. Delicious nibbles & bubbly drinks were served (including alumni parent and board member Steve Barlam's delectable homemade cinnamon rolls and alumni parent and board member Susanna Lovell's savory egg rolls - not a crumb left for either dish)! Many of our guests were able to tour the new building for the first time. Alumni families remarked on how some things felt different and some things stayed the same. "It's a different location but with the same vibe," alumni student Arizona Lovell observed.
It was such a treat to have three of our alumni students: Josh (class of 1999), Olivia (class of 2010) and Arizona (class of 2014), share their memories of Cheerful Helpers and how the tools they learned so many years ago still resonate with them today.
Inspired by the matching $2,500 donation challenge (generously pledged by Board Member Vicki Sonu and her husband Michael Song), the community raised $5,610 doubling the matching grant and culminating in a grand total of $8,110.
It was a pleasure celebrating with the community and we are grateful to everyone who helped us meet our fundraising goal!
