We are asking for your assistance in reminding department chairs and other approvers of the need to review and approve OID forms submitted by faculty and staff. While the OID process is the responsibility of the Institutional Compliance Office, please note that the Office of Research uses informed from the OID form to meed National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other agency requirements that individuals on grant submissions have a current conflict of interest disclosure form on file at the time a grant is submitted to NIH/other agencies. Using information from the OID form streamlines the process and eliminates the need for a separate and redundant submission for grants. For an OID form to be considered complete, it must be reviewed and approved by the department chair or in some cases other designated approvers. The Office of Research is running into situations where faculty have submitted OID forms, but the form has not been approved which has the potential to delay or prevent grant submissions. we are looking for your help in emphasizing the importance of reviewing and approving these forms for research faculty and staff.
To determine what OID forms have not been approved by your area, please log into IRIS, and go the transaction: ZPR_OID_REPORT. On the selection screen, (1) type in your responsible cost center, (2) change the date last reviewed to "07/01/2021", and (3) check the submitted box on the OID form status to include selection". Please contact the approvers who have OID forms in their workflow and provide them with the instructions below.
