Good morning! The city of Clemson will hold its annual "Trick or Treat on College Avenue" event today from 5-7 p.m. downtown. The deadline to enroll or make changes to your insurance coverage is this Friday, October 31; a faculty member addresses public concerns regarding Joro spiders. 

• The city of Clemson will hold its annual "Trick or Treat on College Avenue" event today from 5-7 p.m. downtown. Road closures will begin at 3 p.m.

• The Clemson faculty and staff ticket presale (as available) for George Strait's May 2 show at Memorial Stadium opens tomorrow, Wednesday, October 29 at 10 a.m. using the code CLEMSON.

• The deadline to enroll or make changes to your insurance coverage is this Friday, October 31, at 11:59 p.m. Once the deadline has passed, you must wait until either next October or until you have a special eligibility situation. Visit the 2025 Open Enrollment webpage for more.

• David Coyle, associate professor of forest health and invasive species, recently co-authored two papers addressing some key public concerns when it comes to Joro spiders, including safe products to use on them and the aggressiveness of the arachnids. 

• Clemson Libraries is restarting the Dean’s Research Series with a talk by James Gilmore, associate professor of communication, Tuesday, November 4, at 4 p.m. in the Brown Room (416). Gilmore will speak on his most recent book, Bringers of Order: Wearable Technologies and the Manufacturing of Everyday Life. The event will also be available via Zoom.

Clemson University and Omron Automation celebrated the opening of the Automation, Robotics, and Cyber (ARC) Laboratory in Riggs Hall with a ribbon-cutting last month. The lab is equipped with state-of-the-art industrial hardware and software donated by Omron Automation and Omron Foundation, positioning future engineers to succeed in careers at all levels of industry.
