Mental Health First Aid Training
The Byer’s School of Nursing is hosting a Mental health First Aid training to prepare faculty, students and staff to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders. The training will teach you to assess the risk of suicide or harm, listen nonjudgmentally, give reassurance and information, encourage appropriate professional help, self-help, and other support strategies. Finally, you’ll be equipped with crisis numbers and local mental health providers in the event you need to refer others.
Click here to reserve your spot by Jan. 13 for this impactful training on Feb. 3, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., in the Barrette Business and Community Center.
