By Haylee Newman, head writer
Welcome to the inaugural issue of The Pony Press! The Pony Press is a student media publication for you — not your families or your grandma or your teachers. You! It is created and run by 6 Digital Mixed Media II students. It has been many years since CAC has had a student-run weekly publication, and we are honored to bring back this tradition. The Pony Press will be released to students every Tuesday via email and will feature recurring sections as well as stand alone stories.
If you want to see something featured in The Pony Press, we want to hear from you! It is important to us to include ALL students (after all, this is student-led), so please make frequent use of our feedback form (located in the “Use Your Voice” section of this week's issue). You have a chance to be featured in upcoming issues; you can share advice for other students or grades, suggest a word of the week, recommend a book, or tell your faith story! If none of these future columns are applicable to you, feel free to tell us something funny that happened, explain why you think Stanley cups are overrated, or suggest a better nickname for Pencil Neck... er, Coach Morse... we just want to hear from you! Tell us what you think and what you want to see more of!
We want The Pony Press to be something you look forward to seeing, and we are proud to create it for you. We can't wait to see how you show up in CAC's story each week in The Pony Press!

Staff Meteorologist Caden Cash spotted this winter weather display this morning.

On Tuesday Jan. 31, 2023, schools around Central Arkansas were canceled due to impending torrential amounts of freezing rain and ice. Initially, students all around the state rejoiced, but were shocked to find nothing when they awoke on Tuesday morning after expecting a fun day of snow and sledding. These predicted ice storms did not bring the amounts of ice we were expecting. Students, enjoy your day off, and don’t forget to check Google Classroom and do your work.

It's time to answer the age old question–which CAC teacher has the most drip? This week we've selected a few teachers who we believe go above and beyond on their outfits each and every day. Now it's your turn to vote on who you believe has the best style. Will it be Mrs. Arnold, Coach Hall, Mrs. Owens, Mr. Rine, Dr. Stewart, or Mr. Billy Sullivan?

They greet us at the door. They bring indescribable joy. They love us unconditionally. And honestly, who doesn't love a cute pet pic. So here's Jonathan Sheehy (7th) with his dogs Larry and Tessa!

The Roller Coaster: From One Sully to Another |
Mr. Billy Sullivan graduated from CAC in 2014 and has since returned to teach history to both middle and high school students. We sat down with Mr. Billy Sullivan to hear his advice to current CAC students, his return to CAC, his favorite high school memories, and taking over the Roller Coaster from his dad. Watch the video below, and then read the full story from head writer Haylee Newman.

Anna Tuxhorn will be acting as our fearless leader as she takes on the role of Editor and Chief of the Pony Press. As editor, Anna will organize projects, lend advice and guidance to staff, finalize all issues of the Press, and create a publication that will provide value to students. She hopes that the Pony Press will provide a way for future students and alumni to look back on past years on the Mountain.
