Aloe Bay Update | January 2021
As a new year begins, the Aloe Bay project team and Steering Committee are excited to announce details of the upcoming Aloe Bay design charrette the week of January 18. The design charrette is a multi-day design workshop that allows citizens and designers to collaborate on the vision and plans for Aloe Bay together. It will be an opportunity for everyone in town to share ideas with others and gather feedback from everyone who participates. The reason a charrette is important for Aloe Bay is so that the vision and plans will be based on the input provided by the community.
Are you interested in learning more about how the charrette will work and why it is important? Check out these videos produced by Dover, Kohl & Partners, members of the Aloe Bay project team, that will be facilitating the charrette.
Because of COVID-19 and recommendations from the CDC and the Alabama Department of Health, the charrette will include both online meetings, as well as an in-person opportunity. All online community meetings will be recorded and posted on the Aloe Bay Charrette Hub Website (https://www.aloebay.org/charrette-hub) so anyone can view them and participate at any time. The in-person open house will occur in accordance with social distancing recommendations, and masks will be required. During the charrette, all efforts will be made to provide as many opportunities to participate as possible. The date and location of the in-person event will be announced soon.
