From the Executive Director

Dear Cottage Theatre family,

Today is Friday (just in case you've forgotten!) which means that it is time for the next installment of CT's Top Ten Shows countdown.

This week's show is an inspiring story of survival and hope amidst adversity, and what message could be more appropriate to this current time? Generations of people before us have survived all kinds of trials, whether plagues or famines or wars. Somehow, someday, thanks to the heroic efforts of health care workers and researchers — and our indomitable human spirit  together we will move past this COVID-19 crisis too.

Until then, be well . . . and spread kindness!

Your questions answered here

You have questions . . . and so do we! Some questions, of course, we cannot yet answer, like "When will Cottage Theatre resume productions?" But we are happy to answer the questions that we can. We'll answer a question or two each week going forward.

Question: I have Mamma Mia tickets. What should I do with them?
Answer: We are still planning to produce Mamma Mia as our next show, whenever it is safe to do so. Your existing tickets will be exchanged to one of our new performance dates once we have them. We will be in touch with all Mamma Mia ticketholders at that time to coordinate those exchanges.
Question: Will you still be offering summer camps this year?
Answer: Sadly, the answer to this question is no. This week the Cottage Theatre Board made the difficult, but necessary decision to cancel our 2020 summer theatre camps. Based on the current guidance we are getting from state and public health officials, it seems extremely unlikely that the social distance guidelines will be lifted in time to the extent needed for us to safely hold our planned summer camps in June and July. Keeping everyone safe and healthy is our foremost priority. We will sure miss working with our community's talented young people this summer, though!

Create some magic for your future

Like every performing arts organization, Cottage Theatre faces some significant financial challenges as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. We have already cut as many ongoing expenses as possible during this crisis, but some core operating costs continue whether or not we are holding performances.

If you are in a position to contribute a little bit to help ensure that CT maintains its footing for the future, we  and your future fellow audience members — will be very grateful.
