One of Karen's top tips? Use container combinations to inject energy, color, and visual interest in any space - outdoors
or indoors! One of Karen's transformed spaces was her covered poolside patio. When looking for ways to bring a sense of the outdoors into this covered space, Karen relied on elegant containers with bright combinations like
Everillo Carex,
Firestorm Lantana, and
Red Sky Holly for their vibrant color and exciting foliage.
Karen's backyard also offered challenges in terms of dark and dappled shade. Majestic oak trees covered in Spanish moss provided a beautiful backdrop to the backyard, but the shade they cast was a major consideration when picking a plant palette to surround them. Karen wanted to infuse some of the cheerful color and bright blooms she loves into the space, so she selected an array of shade-friendly hydrangeas like the colorful
